Open rehearsals for our holiday concert, a celebration of “Hope, Joy, Love and Peace”, will begin Monday, September, 11 and run through Monday, September 25. Open rehearsals are a great introduction to the chorus and a great way to find out what it’s like to sing with us. Rehearsals are from 7:30 – 9:30 at Union Congregational Church in North Reading (but we’ll be there at 7:00 and encourage you to come a bit earlier to say hello, get your music and get settled).
Concert dates will be Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3. Masks are optional and we will no longer be requiring proof of vaccine.
Music selections include Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, O Come All Ye Faithful, We Need A Little Christmas, De Dreydeleh, A Muppet Christmas Carol Medley, Somewhere in My Memory, A- Wassailing, I Wish You Christmas, and Let There Be Peace on Earth.
Membership is open to all and seasonal dues is $55. Prior experience in choral singing or four part harmony is a plus, but not required. We have a lot of experience helping new singers (and singers who are a bit “rusty”) be successful and many of our members started with no prior chorus experience and no ability to read music. While we love to welcome experienced singers to the group, all it really takes to be successful is a love of singing and a “can do” attitude!
The concert will also feature the IRCC Children’s Chorus. If you have a child who is interested in singing with us, please reach out for more info. The kids will be singing two songs and the time commitment is minimal. Members of our children’s chorus do not pay dues.
